PRUride PH 2019
The largest cycling festival in the Philippines is about to get bigger in 2019!
PRUride PH was first staged in 2016 by British life insurer Pru Life UK to engage the growing cycling community in the Philippines to raise awareness on cycling as a sustainable alternative mode of transport. Inspired by Prudential RideLondon – the largest global cycling event sponsored by the life insurer's parent company, global financial services giant Prudential plc – the maiden event saw around a thousand cyclists participating in the different criterium categories in McKinley West, Taguig.
The 2018 edition stepped up the game by securing Class B accreditation from the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world governing body for cycling. The two-weekend of cycling events held in Subic and Taguig gathered more than 2,000 cyclists participating in various categories, including the prestigious 100-kilometer Philippine National Road Race Championships and the country’s first ever Brompton Challenge.
PRUride PH only promises to be bigger and better this 2019 as it is once again set to gather the strongest and most competitive cyclists from the Philippines and across Asia.
The two-leg event will be held in Filinvest City, Alabang in April and Subic, Zambales in May wherein more than 2,500 cyclists are expected to participate in 18 challenging categories of all expertise levels, as well as in fun activities for the whole family!
Kicking off the excitement on April 7, 2019 are the high-octane races of the PRUride Criterium at the Filinvest City in Alabang. The event will offer the best local talents to compete in different categories, including the Small Wheels Challenge.
From Filinvest City Alabang, we will move on to the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in May.
A part of the UCI Asia Tour, the PRUride Philippines Stage Race is a three-day stage race to be held on May 24 to 26, 2019, and will see 20 of the top teams from the country and the region compete for individual, team, and stage honors. As one of the two UCI 2.2-accredited events in the country, the event will allow the pros to reap points needed to enter the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Amateur cyclists will also have the chance to join in the fun with the new masters single stage race as well as the Gran Fondo (in 30, 60 or 100 kilometers).
The stakes are high, and the excitement, even higher, as more than PhP 2 million worth of cash prizes will be given away!
Register now until December 31, 2018 to enjoy the early-bird discount rate and get limited-edition freebies! All participants will get a PRUride PH 2019 jersey, and all finishers will get a finisher medal.
